A Little Look Back Into Childhood
My mum texted me a picture of this book
When I saw it, memories came flooding in
It was loved for a time by my brother and I
It was read to us over and over again
When my grandma came from Ghana to stay
We used to beg her to read it to us
The words of each page may today be a haze
But you don’t lose the feeling of something you loved
Most, if not all of us will have had the feeling of seeing something from our childhood, something that we had not thought about in years, which unearths memories long forgotten. The book Dear Zoo was one of my older brother and I’s favourites. I can remember pictures inside simply looking at the cover, and how excited I would be to have it read to me in nursery and at home.
