Our headline news:
Wonderful Things Grow at the Chelsea Flower Show!
A show dedicated to flowers
Is exactly my kind of place
My mum would say the exact same thing
Thus, we had our flower show day!
We oohed and ahhed and laughed with delight
At all the species and displays
I could not have asked for quality time
In more fun and flowery way!
I was invited to the press day of Chelsea Flower Show this week, with a +1. The only person I could call was my mum! We have spent all spring, as we do each year, exchanging pictures of all the flowers we see. I have never been to Chelsea Flower Show before therefore this was an experience in itself for me, one I thoroughly enjoyed. My mum is my biggest example when it comes to enjoying the small joys of life and love for plants and nature, so to share this experience with her was beyond special!
In other news:
At First Confused, Then Highly Amused!
Who is Darles and where are his chickens?
All I see is a load of old books!
Browsing through volumes of literature
This joke hit as hard as it should!
A good witticism or spoonerism
I appreciate at any time
I bought two books instead of just one
For such was the mirth I did find
I first found out what a spoonerism is via one of my favourite rappers, Loyle Carner. His name is taken from his real surname, Coyle-Larner. Nonsense, spoonerisms, these things and more make me so appreciative of all the ways language can entertain and delight us! I was especially happy seeing this one when browsing for classical literature - it is far too easy to take oneself too seriously when reading, so this injection of whimsy was very appreciated!
And finally…
New Photographs, Without Being Asked!
It usually takes a very long time
To get new photographs of me
Photoshoots are a little too much
Though I’m fine with a quick selfie!
I pushed through my discomfort
To take new photographs with a friend
It was a great shoot, I have photos anew
That will do until the year’s end!
For someone who films videos and takes selfies often, I am really not great at getting “official” photos taken. I find being in front of a camera for long periods of time quite difficult; I prefer quick spontaneous smiles and to not take myself seriously! I seriously salute models for their work because it is really a lot harder than it looks to work through self-consciousness and be regularly photographed. Whenever I need new photographs it’s because somebody asks for them, never of my own volition but this week I broke the habit of a lifetime! My lovely friend Paula (@narcography on Instagram) made this photoshoot very fun and natural and the time flew by! New photos of your resident poet soon!
Going into this week:
There is a heatwave in the U.K., which means as much time in the sun as possible for me! Though the U.K. has buildings designed to keep in the heat and a distinct lack of air conditioning, you will never see me complain as I will always take the heat over the cold! Stay hydrated and take plenty of care and wherever you are in the world, I hope there’s something to enjoy in your every day this week - whatever the weather!
Thank you for being here.
Whatever you’re doing this week, I hope you have a wonderful one.

A brilliant post, thank you! And your friend got a great shot of you in the viewfinder of her camera...you can definitely trust her with "finding" you!
So pleasant xo
