Our headline news:
Lunch With my Brother, A Joy Like No Other!
It is a truly wonderful thing
To have siblings who are also friends
Meeting for lunch on a workday
Feels almost like children playing pretend!
I’ve seen my wonderful baby brother
Become a responsible, diligent man
I’m so grateful that we have one another
And that we will always make plans!
It’s strange to think sometimes that my siblings and I could have not been siblings, that they could have been separate adults with no shared familial connection, yet were we to meet now we would be great friends! We talk all the time and see each other regularly, to the point that it is very strange and I feel sad when we don’t. It’s a real blessing that I never take for granted, and have been especially grateful for in what has been a rather intense year for me so far. The highlight of this week was seeing my youngest brother for a working lunch (how very adult!) and seeing my sister on Friday evening to cap an excellent working week. I love my siblings!
In other news:
Homemade Pasta with Leftovers After!
I visited friends who are family
With plans to stay the night
I stepped into the hallway
And knew that call was right!
The smell of homemade lasagne
Embraced me as I walked in
With cakes for dessert, I was stuffed beyond words
What pure joy home-cooked food can bring!
Early this week, I finally got to visit two of my closest friends in their new flat, a plan that has been made and rearranged multiple times. I am so proud of them; they have worked very hard towards this home and it is warm and beautiful, just as they are. We ate a beautiful and hearty meal together, listened to music, watched football and I took leftovers home for my dinner the next day! My dream life!
And finally…
Vietnamese Coffee - One Taste and It’s Got Me!
I had heard the rumours
They turned out to be true
Vietnamese coffee!
I am truly moved!
Rich and strong
It made me feel alive!
My passion for coffee
Has once more been revived!
I stopped drinking coffee in 2023, as I felt I was relying on it too much for energy rather than actually keeping good sleep and dietary habits. In late 2025, it made a slow reintroduction to my life as I felt I could trust myself again! I missed it greatly - I love coffee for the taste more than its invigorating effect, though that is also most welcome! I was introduced to a restaurant called G Asian Canteen in Willesden by two good friends, who treated me to lunch and the signature Vietnamese slow-drip coffee. It’s a treat I will never forget and will be giving to myself many more times: delicious!
Going into this week:
I scheduled a mid-June holiday this week because this year has been nonstop thus far! I am grateful for everything but I have learned (the hard way) that I must rest proactively rather than reactively, and I am putting those lessons into practice. Having that to look forward to means that I can head into the next few weeks with renewed fervour, knowing it will not be too long until I can have a good rest. I am excited for all that is ahead, for all of us!
Thank you for being here.
Whatever you’re doing this week, I hope you have a wonderful one.

I always enjoy your positivity.
You're posts always lighten my heart. Thank you. Much like good sleep hygiene, I need to read them more, particularly in the mornings as I start my day.
